In the midst of everything that happens every day, news can get sent around the world instantaneously, and any news can get missed in the nonstop flow of news. I always have a sense of accomplishment, after a successful meeting, knowing that Japan’s part wasn’t missed, that it was noticed, and Japan’s vision was successfully communicated to the world.”

For governmental meetings, it is not uncommon to have a lot of things left to decide, even with 2 weeks left before a big meeting. International meetings are quite important for Japan and for international relations, so of course I feel nervous, as any mistakes can have a huge impact. However, I enjoy being able to participate in such important meetings and ensuring that required protocols are followed; I am incredibly satisfied knowing that the meeting was a success.
