JCS Proud to Sponsor Bring Your Children to Work Day – Summer
On July 29th JCS was proud to sponsor a Bring Your Child to Work Day.
This is an event that we have been holding since last year to introduce children to the JCS family, their parents’ workplace and coworkers, and create a family friendly working environment. This year, in addition to children, relatives and mothers on maternity leave also attended, and we sponsored a Mother’s Café, so mothers on maternity leave can smoothly ease back into the workplace. This year 40 people participated, giving us a livelier event than last year.
As part of the program, after an explanation of JCS, business cards were given to children, and they exchanged business cards with JCS President Chikanami. They nervously knocked on the door to the President’s Office and came out full of smiles. After that, they thoroughly enjoyed the stamp rally in our office. Over the rest of the half day, they got to experience our regular morning meeting, a teleconference, decorating wind chimes for the reception, and lunch.
Children gave comments such as “it’s great to see my mom’s work,” “it was great to look around the company during the stamp rally,” “even though I was really nervous, it was great to exchange business cards with the President,” and “it was great to see my mom’s workplace.” Participants in our Mother’s Café commented that “it was great to get information with other mothers,” “I’m relieved as was able to confirm the steps before coming back to work,” “I feel great to have had this opportunity” and “I want to talk to fathers as well.”
Work Day proved to be a wonderful opportunity for employees, including those on maternity leave, and their children.
