JCS signs a Basic Agreement with the Office for Promoting SDGs of Kobe University to Accelerate SDGs Initiatives toward Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan

On November 9, JCS signed the “Basic Agreement on the Promotion of SDGs” with the Office for Promoting SDGs of the National University Corporation Kobe University.

Through this agreement, the two parties will work together to promote SDGs and support initiatives in preparation for Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan. Specifically, this would entail the following:

1. Raising awareness and supporting initiatives related to SDGs among students and faculty at universities in Japan;
2. Sharing information on Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan;
3. Other matters as necessary.

Kobe University and JCS under each of the banner “Co-creating and Shaping Future Society,” and “MICE Project to Get Everyone in the Communication Loop,” are registered Co-creation Partners of the “TEAM EXPO 2025” programme to build momentum for the Expo.

Kobe University established its Office for Promoting SDGs in February 2020 to help achieve the SDGs. The office seeks to connect “knowledge” and “human” assets in academia to meet the challenges of SDGs by promoting innovation through interdisciplinary co-creation and initiatives that capitalize on human strengths. The office shares SDG-related ideas with the community and industry and works with them, extensively publicizing their efforts at home and abroad.
In 2012, JCS became the first company in Japan to get ISO 20121 certified (Event Sustainability Certification). JCS is committed to offering Sustainable Conventions®︎*, which consider environmental, social, and economic sustainability to add value to events and contribute to society.

Through an industry–academia partnership, Kobe University, with its interdisciplinary co-creation approach, and JCS, with its focus on Sustainable Conventions®︎, will harness each other’s strengths, expertise, and resources to solve social issues and pursue the value of sustainability to create new value and innovation toward Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
